Information for Parents
School Structure and Support
The Grange is a one‑form entry primary school for ages 3–11, incorporating a Nursery and six specialist SEN unit classes providing support for pupils with identified needs. More details are available in the school prospectus.
Working in Partnership with Parents
Strong communication is essential to children’s success.
We keep parents informed through regular newsletters, parent consultations and reports and website updates.
Parents are encouraged to contact the school with concerns or questions. Clear communication channels help ensure issues are addressed promptly and appropriately.
The House System
From Reception, every child is assigned to a house. The House System promotes teamwork, shared responsibility, and school pride.
Throughout the year, a variety of activities are linked to the house system, encouraging healthy competition and recognition. These include:
-
Reward schemes, such as Spot Charts
-
Recognition for good attendance and punctuality
-
Completion of homework
-
House-based homework challenges, including Times Table Rock Stars, Reading Eggs, and Purple Mash Reading Comprehension
-
Sporting events
-
Our annual Sports Day
The School Council and Eco Committee
The School Council consists of democratically elected representatives (one boy and one girl) from each class in Year Two and above. They meet regularly to discuss current issues, explore solutions, and contribute to the smooth running of the school.
Each year, the School Council participates in a project with councils from other primary schools in South Sefton, providing pupils with the opportunity to collaborate and focus on initiatives within the wider community.
The Eco Committee is elected using the same process. Members work to raise awareness of energy conservation, recycling, and environmental issues at the school, local, national, and global level.
